Can I join Read A Writer if I don't have an ebook to sell?
Absolutely. If you do purchase books, you will earn credits toward listing your own book if you should have one in the future.
Can I list more than one book?
Yes. As long as you are the author, you can list multiple books. You are required to purchase another author's ebook (every three months) for each book you list. If you list three books, you will need to buy three books quarterly to keep your listings active. If you remove one of your listings, your quarterly obligation will be reduced accordingly.
How much does this service cost?
To keep your ebook listed, you must purchase (from this site) another author's ebook once every three months. The cost of authors' ebooks vary and are determined by the author. Additionally, when your ebook sells, you are charged the PayPal fee (that Read A Writer incurs) as well as a nominal 1.5% handling fee. As an example, if you sell your ebook for $10.00 the PayPal fee (at the time of this writing) would be $0.84. Read A Writer's 1.5% would be another $0.15 for a total $0.99 in fees. Your payment from Read A Writer would be $9.01.
Why do I need a PayPal account?
When a user purchases your book, the purchase goes through PayPal. Read A Writer then forwards the proceeds from the sales to you securely via PayPal.
When will I be paid for my book sales?
When your book sells, payment will be sent to your PayPal account within 24 hours. In most cases, you will receive payment within a few minutes but we ask that you allow up to 24 hours.
Can I sell a hardback or paperback through Read A Writer?
No. Read A Writer would incur shipping and additional handling charges in order to mail physical copies of books. Rather than pass the charges along to you, the seller, we've opted to keep our fees at a minimum by handling only ebooks.
Why don't I see an option to leave a book review?
The option to leave a review, for a particular book, may be unavailable for several reasons. You cannot leave a review if you...- have already left a review for that title
- did not purchase the title through Read A Writer
- are the author of the book
Can I buy books if I haven't uploaded one of my own?
Yes. Feel free to buy as many books as you want. For each book you purchase, you will receive credit toward 3 months of listing your own when you are ready to do so.
What happens if I purchase several books and only have one book of my own listed?
You will earn a credit for each book you purchase. You can choose how to apply your credits; whether you wish to keep your own listing posted longer or save your extra credits for later (in case you upload a second book).
Why don't I see the book I uploaded?
Here are a few reasons your book might not appear:- you never activated the listing after uploading it
- 90 days has passed and the listing expired
- you suspended the listing and never resumed it
What are credits?
Each credit on Read a Writer earns you 30 days toward having your book listed. Uploading a book earns 3 credits. Credits can also be used to boost your book in search results.
